My Mother's yourDNAPortal Laniakea Global Analysis

This is my mother's yourDNAPortal  Laniakea Analysis

My mother's Genealogical Ancestry

She's a 3rd generation Californian

her paternal grandfather: American born in California and son of immigrants from Cape Verde (Portuguese and Sub Saharan African)

her paternal grandmother: American born in California with a father from Puerto Rico (Spanish, Sub Saharan African, and Taino) and a mother that was a Hawaiian daughter of immigrants from Madeira (Portuguese with Sub Saharan African)

her maternal grandfather: European American born in Oregon of mainly English ancestry with German, Swiss, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Dutch, and Frisian

colonial roots in Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island

other roots in Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana

her maternal grandmother: Ashkenazi Jewish American born in Nebraska with a father born in Romania and a mother born in Courland (in what is now known as Latvia) in Russian Empire

Because of the Transatlantic Slave trade, she doesn't know anything about her Sub Saharan African ancestry, but I am sure that it's mainly from West and Central Africa. Most of the Sub Saharan African slaves were brought from West and Central Africa. Africa has over 3,000 ethnic groups, and that includes Nigeria having over 400 ethnic groups. Her Sub Saharan African ancestry is highly likely to consist of multiple Sub Saharan African ethnic groups.

The Review of The Non-Sub Saharan African Regions of My AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate

I want to go over the non-Sub Saharan African in my AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate.  This is to show why parent-child DNA phasing is essential.  The problems of not phasing becomes obvious if a person has a vast majority of specific continental ancestry that comes from parent that has tested.  I take ethnic analyses with a strong grain of salt and focus mainly on DNA relative matches.  I do think that knowing the continental ancestries are helpful, but I am skeptical of the breakdown of each continental ancestry because of all the mixing that went on in people in the continents throughout history going back to highly ancient times. I am especially skeptical of the European continental breakdown with my longtime reading of the history of the mixing of populations in Europe. After getting and reading 'Ancestry Reimagined: Dismantling the Myth of Genetic Ethnicities' by Kostas Kampourakis,  I even question these ethnicity estimates even more.  Kampouraki...
