Learning About My Jewish Ancestry

  I am around 1/8 Ashkenazi. My maternal grandmother's mother Ruth Rosenthal was a first generation Ashkenazi Jewish American born in Nebraska. Her father Max Rosenthal immigrated from Romania in 1902, and her mother Irene Hosias immigrated from Latvia in 1912. They were married in Allen, Goshen County, Wyoming in 1913. AncestryDNA says that I am 11% European Jewish.I am actually a multiracial/highly multiethnic American,and I really don't have a specific type of identity nor culture. My AncestryDNA Ethnicity Estimate says that I am 52% African, 47% European, and 1% Native American. I believe that 1% should be added to Native American and subtracted from European. My mitochondrial DNA Haplogroup is J1c14 which has been found in Central and Eastern Europe. It's not one of the main Ashkenazi Jewish Haplogroups, but it seems that mainly Ashkenazi Jews that have it.  It was only back in 2011 that I have learned that I have Jewish ancestry.
