According to what I was told by my 2nd Cousin, Once Removed Linda and confirmed by records, my 2nd Great Grandfather James Cross had siblings named Edmond Barrow, Charles Valentine Barrow, Wallace Barrow, and Melvina Barrow Green. On their social security records, both Charles and Melvina's parents were listed as Bonnie and Laura Barrow. Melvina was recorded as mulatto on a US Census Record. Wallace was recorded as mulatto on a US Census Record that I found on him.
I used the recorded information of James Cross born in 1853 in Louisiana, black, living in Ward 3, St Mary Parish, Louisiana, post office: Franklin in 1870 US Census as a lead. I looked for an African American Barrow family in the same area in the 1870 US Census Records.
If I were to believe what I found while looking for my 2nd great grandfather James' African American mother, her husband, and their children, my African American 3rd great grandmother may have been in a consensual interracial relationship with a European American man and the family had a last name completely different from Barrow.
I found a Boney family that had a Laura with children with the names Edmond, Wallace, Malvina, and Chas (Charles) along with other children named Boney (Bonnie), Jno (John), but Laura's husband's name was Chas (Charles) and was recorded as being white. One of the other children listed was James. Laura and all of her children were recorded as black except for James who was recorded as mulatto. Everybody in the household was recorded as being born in Louisiana except Laura who was recorded as being born in Virginia.

Elizabeth Boney born in 1850 in Louisiana, black, field hand
Elizabeth Boney may have been Chas and Laura's daughter.
I looked up Laura born in 1826 and living in St. Mary Parish in 1880 US Census Records.
I found a Bearer that included Laura and her husband Boney with their children Wallace, Charley, and Charlotte. They had a grand daughter Anna Cross living there. That must be James and Mary's daughter. If that is the case, she was their first born child. Everybody in the household was recorded black. Even though Boney was recorded as white in the 1870 US Census under the name Chas Boney, he was recorded as black in the 1880 US Census. Boney, Wallace, Charley, and Charlotte were recorded as being born in Louisiana. Laura was recorded as being born in Virginia.

Boney and Laura's son Boney and his wife lived next door.
I cannot find any information about Bonnie and Laura's sons Edmond and John.
I found that there was a death record for Bonnie and Laura's daughter Charlotte.
The record shows her as Charlotte Barrow Jones born in 1871 and died on December 22, 1960 in St Mary Parish, Louisiana.
I check out U.S. Freedman's Bureau Marriage Records, and I found a marriage certificate of Chas Bone and Laura Ann married Aug 20, 1865 in Jefferson, Louisiana.
This could be Bonnie and Laura.
