Diverse Genes

This blog post is about a Barrow 2nd Great Granduncle of mine.   My cousin Linda was the one that told me that my paternal 2nd Great Grandfather James Cross had maternal half siblings and that they were Edmond Barrow, Wallace Barrow, Melvina Barrow Green, and Charles Valentine Barrow.   I later learned that they were the children of Bonnie Barrow (originally Chas Boney) and Laura who were African American slaves in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana and relocated to St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.  Linda is a granddaughter of my paternal grandmother's mother Priscilla Cross Gaines' older sister Laura Cross Bates. Therefore, she and I are 2nd Cousins, Once Removed.  She and I first connected as AncestryDNA matches. I got information of who I believe who was Edmond Barrow who was originally Edmond Boney.
